About Chelsey justice, lpcc | licensed Therapist in Alexandria, MN
I’m passionate about helping young women find their happiness again and get back into the driver’s seat of life. My clients tend to be high-functioning millennial women whose problems may not be immediately apparent to others — but below the surface, they're stuck and hurting (and they’re pretty good at hiding it, too). This often looks like:
anxiety
perfectionism
self-doubt / low self-esteem
stress / burnout
unfulfilling / conflicted relationships (friends, family, partner/marriage)
buried trauma and past wounds
irritability / feeling “on edge” often
self-sabotaging behaviors
isolating and avoidance
Therapy is a commitment, so it’s important to find a therapist who’s the right fit for you. Research shows that the strongest factor in successful therapy is the client-therapist relationship. Ultimately, you just want a therapist who gets it, and who can help — and I get that. I’m hoping the information I provide here provides a glimpse of who I am and what it’s like working with me in therapy.
While therapy takes hard work, it doesn’t have to be some stiff, painfully awkward process (that sounds awful). My clients have described my style as warm, laid-back, and genuine.
In our work together, I create space for you to better understand yourself so you can truly thrive. Whether it’s processing current issues, learning new coping skills, or doing the deep work of healing past wounds, I meet you where you’re at. I’ll challenge you, ask insight-building questions, help you identify the patterns that are keeping you stuck, and teach you practical tools you can start using right away.
If you’re seeking a therapist in Alexandria, MN, I’m glad you’re here.
Licensure, Qualifications, and Experience
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC, License No. 1976) in the state of Minnesota.
I have been providing therapy services since 2013. While my primary area of focus is millennial women, anxiety, and trauma/PTSD, I also love working with teens and young adults.
I have extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), one of the most widely researched and effective forms of therapy. My approach also draws from my training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy — a powerful and evidence-based treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, and other mental health concerns. I have advanced training in EMDR and find it to be a great fit for those who have things from the past that are keeping them “stuck,” or for those who have been in therapy before but have not found the change they were seeking.
I am a contributing writer for The Mighty, a mental health community that empowers and connects individuals facing health challenges.
